Even the smallest need us.
Usually hidden,
We’re home to hairy billions
And tiny trillions.
We haul water and
Mine for minerals.
What are we?

Riddle 2:

I am partially bright, and partially dark
If you slight me, you will receive a mark.

If left alone, sweetness we will show.

Riddle 3:

I make witch’s brooms,
And baskets on high.
I have stolen a thousand kisses
And felled the Norse God of truth and light.
I feed the birds,
And drink the trees,
But humans may die,
If they feast on me.
What am I?

Riddle 4:

I’m called “mophead”
and “lacecap,”
When my feet are in acid,
My head turns blue.
When my feet are in salt
I blush pink.
In Asia they look at me and say,:
“You are the beat of my heart.”
“Oh, this is reminding me of kissing again. . . “

Riddle 5:

Future generations wait outside,
in this it is alone.
Its time is first,
Sweeter than the family rose.
Its sanguine surface points from the stock,
Away from the verdant wig
A symbol for Venus in the form of a heart.
Beloved, tiny or big.

Riddle 6:

Resisting water and flame
I hold spirits, insects, and birds.
I sat with the knights of Camelot
Gave shelter to Robin of Sherwood,
And royal escape to Charles II.
My arm defended Thorin when his shield broke.
What am I?
